Diane Snyder Cashmere Care Guide
Cashmere Care
- Cashmere knitwear can be handwashed as it is gentle on your clothes as well as the environment
Handwashing Instructions:
- Turn inside out to wash as this is where stains and odors buildup closest to your body and underarms
- Prepare a bath of lukewarm water - maximum 30 degrees - containing a mild shampoo (remember it is goat hair)
- Leave to soak 20-30 minutes
- Rinse well running room temperature water until soapy water is gone
- Press out extra water taking care not to stretch sweater
- On a flat surface, smooth sweater back in shape
- Dry flat, away from sunlight or direct heat
Storage
- Clean your sweaters before you store them. Moths are attracted to natural fibers when dirty or stained
- Gently fold and store in a breathable zip-up plastic bag
- Do not hang your sweaters as it can distort the shape of the shoulders
- Properly stored and cared for, cashmere can last for many seasons
